Aram is usually regarded as being the eponymous ancestor of the Aramaean people of Northern Mesopotamia and Syria. ==Name== The name Aram ( or ʾĂrām) means "exalted", from the Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew Lexicon, 'ărâm, and "highland", in Strong's Concordance, 'ărâm or arawm'.
